WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Serve as a liaison with the IT department to ensure timely provision of necessary tech assets to new hires, oversee appropriate setups, and manage asset retrieval upon termination.
  • Input new hire information into all HR platforms promptly.
  • Coordinate training and development initiatives by assigning, scheduling, and monitoring online and live training sessions, as well as managing associated training materials.

As the VP- Financial Lines, you will play a critical role in leading our Financial Lines underwriting team. You will be responsible for evaluating and underwriting complex risks within the financial sector, including Directors and Officers (D&O) liability, Professional Liability (E&O), Cyber Liability, and Employment Practices Liability (EPL). Your strategic insight, underwriting expertise, and leadership skills will drive profitable growth and ensure the delivery of exceptional service to our clients.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Evaluate and underwrite complex risks within the financial sector, including D&O liability, E&O liability, Cyber Liability, and EPL.
  • Conduct thorough risk assessments and analysis to determine appropriate coverage and pricing strategies.
  • Review and analyze underwriting data, market trends, and industry developments to identify emerging risks and opportunities.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, brokers, and industry partners.
  • Collaborate with the sales and marketing teams to develop and execute effective client engagement strategies.

Reinsurance

Reinsurance Analyst

Location: London, England, United Kingdom - On_site

The Reinsurance Analyst will be responsible for supporting the Reinsurance team with Relm’s Inwards and Outwards Reinsurance strategies, as well as providing support for Relm’s alternative reinsurance strategies.

This role will require a solution-oriented individual who approaches problems not just analytically, but also creatively and enthusiastically. Relm is a growing organisation that relies on collaboration across our different departments and functions, the ideal candidate must be comfortable interacting effectively with other departments in a professional and efficient manner.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Reinsurance pricing analysis of individual new and renewal Inwards Reinsurance Accounts
  • Engage with reinsurance broker partners on new and renewal business submissions
  • Monitor individual performance of existing bound Inwards transactions quarterly
  • Profitability analysis and monitoring of whole Relm Re Inwards portfolio (AvE, portfolio management modelling, etc.)
  • Support the build-out of reporting MI tools to deliver accurate and timely Inwards portfolio data and analytics to internal and external partners (management, board, reinsurers)
  • Effectively communicate complex analytics in a digestible format to internal stakeholders
  • Work with senior members of the team to identify the most optimal use of RELM reinsurance capacity, deployed via treaty and facultative opportunities; fronted business, program business, traditional cedants and captives; commutations/novations and loss portfolio transfers
  • Participate in new product development initiatives, alternative reinsurance solutions

OUTWARDS

The Reinsurance Analyst/Actuary will contribute to Relm’s Outwards strategy across all insurance lines (both on new and renewal ceded reinsurance treaties, and facultative placements).

In this role you will:

  • Support data preparation and analysis for Relm’s reinsurance submission
  • Perform statistical optimization analysis on Relm’s Insurance portfolio, ensuring our reinsurance strategy (and alternative risk transfer solutions) support the overall business strategy and goals
  • Facilitate or participate in quantitative actuarial profitability and impact analyses, across all lines of business
  • Develop an understanding of catastrophe modelling concepts (to the extent applicable for Relm’s portfolio)
  • Assist in maintaining updated contract documentation and reinsurance bordereaux for external partners and distribute appropriately

GENERAL

  • Remain current with insurance product/line of business changes and reinsurance industry trends
  • Understand and monitor (re)insurance market trends, risk landscape and regulatory developments that may affect business and pricing
  • Understand and monitor key opportunities for Relm as an IIGB licence holder and how the use of digital assets can create new opportunities (pricing of new products, alternative reinsurance structures, collateralized reinsurance backed by digital assets)

Senior Accountant

Role: Full-time

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

The Senior Accountant will be a key member of the finance team, responsible for managing and overseeing the company’s financial activities, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and providing strategic financial insights.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Lead the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with IFRS or other relevant accounting standards.
  • Oversee the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting of financial data.
  • Provide detailed financial analysis, including performance variance analysis, cash flow management, and financial forecasting to support decision-making.
  • Ensure the integrity of financial records, maintaining compliance with local and international accounting regulations, as well as insurance industry-specific requirements.
  • Manage and optimize accounting processes, identifying areas for improvement and implementing best practices for operational efficiency.
  • Oversee tax compliance and assist with the preparation of tax filings, ensuring timely and accurate submission in line with tax laws and regulations.
  • Lead the coordination and completion of external audits, liaising with auditors and ensuring that all audit requirements are met.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, such as underwriting, claims, and product development, to ensure alignment of financial reporting with business operations.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior members of the finance team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
  • Support the Finance Manager / Financial Controller in strategic planning, budgeting, and financial forecasting processes.

VP, Captive Manager

Role: Full-time

Location: Hamilton, Pembroke Parish, Bermuda - Hybrid

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Serve as the main point of contact for clients utilizing captive insurance solutions.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and providing tailored insurance solutions.
  • Facilitate regular communication with clients, including providing updates on captive performance, regulatory compliance, and strategic opportunities.
  • Support clients in evaluating their risk management strategies and identifying ways the captive can enhance their overall risk management program.
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of captives, including underwriting, claims management, and financial reporting.
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate completion of financial statements, regulatory filings, and other compliance requirements.
  • Collaborate with actuaries, auditors, tax advisors, and legal counsel to ensure captives operate within all applicable regulations and best practices.
  • Develop annual business plans and budgets for captive entities, ensuring alignment with client and company objectives.
  • Ongoing review, update, development and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure the organization remains compliant with local regulatory requirements and industry best practices  governing captives, including financial reporting, solvency requirements, and corporate governance.
  • Develop periodic management metrics/reports including key risk indicators (KRIs) and key performance indicators to identify, mitigate and escalate risks, deficiencies and potential breaches.
  • Ensure that appropriate due diligence documentation is obtained and any required sanctions screening is performed prior to execution of agreement.
  • Collaborate with Product development team to review and ensure that captive solutions offered align with BMA license conditions.
  • Monitor incoming transfers and payments requests within captive cells to identify any transactions requiring escalation to Compliance. 
  • Collaborate with the business development team to promote captive insurance solutions to prospective clients.
  • Provide insights and recommendations on captive formation, feasibility studies, and structuring options based on client needs and risk profiles.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance the captive’s value proposition, including exploring reinsurance options, multi-line or multi-year structures, or portfolio diversification.
  • Monitor the financial performance of captives, ensuring profitability, adequate reserving, and capital adequacy.
  • Oversee premium collection, claims payments, and investment activities within the captive structure.
  • Provide regular reports and analysis to clients and internal stakeholders regarding financial results and trends.

Manage High-Exposure and Complex Claims: 

  • Handle claims across Financial Lines (D&O, E&O, Cyber, Crime, Tech Liability) with high financial impact, ensuring efficient resolution while mitigating company exposure. 

Conduct Coverage Analysis: 

  • Review and interpret policy language, assess coverage applicability, and provide coverage determinations in alignment with legal and regulatory requirements. 

Litigation and Dispute Management: 

  • Oversee litigation strategies, work closely with external defense counsel, and participate in mediation, arbitration, and settlement negotiations. 

Regulatory and Compliance Oversight: 

  • Ensure claims handling practices comply with state, federal, and international regulations, particularly in emerging sectors such as blockchain and digital assets. 

Collaborate with Underwriting and Risk Teams:
